The Opportunity
Your Impact
- Conduct field inspections of bridges and civil structures to assess deterioration and structural integrity, helping ensure safe and reliable transportation networks.
- Prepare detailed, accurate inspection reports using digital tools, drawings, and field notes to support engineering decisions and maintenance planning.
- Support the planning and logistics of inspection trips, including equipment preparation and site coordination.
- Contribute to bridge design, repair strategies, load ratings, and construction oversight, gaining exposure to a wide range of structure types and conditions.
- Uphold safety protocols and site-specific procedures to ensure responsible and compliant fieldwork.
- Make ethical decisions aligned with WSP’s Code of Conduct, contributing to a culture of integrity and accountability.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from a CEAB-accredited university.
- Professional working proficiency in both English and French, with experience in French-language professional settings or coursework.
- To qualify for this role, you must be eligible for Canadian Federal Government Reliability clearance (individual must have 5 full years of verifiable current history in Canada to be eligible)
- Familiarity with civil construction codes, regulations, and compliance practices in Ontario and Québec.
- Comfortable working outdoors and at heights (40ft+), including climbing ladders and navigating confined spaces.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and exposure to engineering software such as SAP2000, CSi Bridge, MIDAS, or S-Frame.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours based on project needs.
- Valid Driver License
- Prior internship or leadership experience in engineering environments is an asset.
