Summary/Objective:
The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of inventory integrity as well as the maintenance of the systems, processes, and procedures that are needed to effectively manage and maintain inventory in the most efficient manner. The Inventory Control Specialist will also play an integral role in problem solving business issues or concerns related to inventory. This position will involve opportunities to learn technical aspects of the business, as well as working closely with personnel in Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Accounting.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct Cycle Count inventory processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution
- Schedule categories for Cycle Count inventory and maintain strict records
- Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures
- Maintain adequate storage for warehouse and on-site inventory
- Maintain and evaluate inventory records on a quarterly basis
- Create and train staff on procedures to eliminate loss
- Notify management of shortages or other problems that could impact product availability
- Instruct staff on proper procedures for locating and utilizing product inventory
- Check bulk orders for accuracy and quality prior to shipment
- Assess and monitor warehouse transactions.
- Track inventory maintenance and control equipment flow.
- Submit annual budget reports, ensure financial standards, and resolve issues.
- Act as liaison between the warehouse and customer service.
- Make reports such as quantity reports, defective inventory reports, and product consumption reports
- Plan and develop procedures to maintain the inventory levels in stock.
- Responsible for adding, updating, deleting, and modifying data in Sage (when required)
- Identify ways to discard, dispose or sell products which are not used from longer time (obsolete items).
- Will need to work closely with other teams such as purchasing, scheduling, and both inside and outside sales teams.
- Maintain the labeling system on each inventory location and ensuring it is accurate.
- Perform regular audits of all inventories.
- Participate in hiring process.
- Provide necessary training to new staff.
- Train staff in cycle counting and inventory control procedures.
- File claims for defective inventory and teach the same process to the staff.
- Learn new technologies and teach the same to staff.
- Find flaws in the current process and create a new strategy to solve the issues (continuous improvement).
- Assist in warehouse daily functions (when needed).
- Take physical inventory of all parts and materials on a regular periodic basis.
- Research customer complaints and issue a report of the findings for each complaint
- Review and complete any necessary action requested on the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

This job operates in a professional office and warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, as well as, bending, reaching, lifting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and turning.

- Must have previous Warehouse and Logistics experience.
- Must be able to lead the team and must possess leadership.
- Must be detail oriented and must work with minimal errors in data.
- Must have intermediate computer knowledge and should be able to work on and learn new software.

- Must be able to work effectively under pressure
- Must have the ability to handle complex situations

Required Education and Experience (education, training, or on the job experience required to perform job)
2+ years of combined warehouse and inventory control experience.
