The Maryland Department of Transportation, Secretary’s Office (MDOT TSO), is seeking an IT Asset Management Administrator (Administrator I). This position is responsible for the daily operations of the MDOT IT Asset Management unit, support the full IT asset Lifecyle -including  tagging, distribution, inventory, tracking, disposal and data management of all MDOT IT assets across all sites and modes. The role ensures accurate recording of technical specifications, proper tagging, and accountability for both physical and virtual IT assets. The specialist collaborates with contractors, MDOT IT team and project managers, finance teams, and modal partners to maintain asset integrity, support installations and maintenance, and deliver accurate reporting. The position also manages asset management systems, develops KPIs, conducts data validation, and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The current vacancy exists at MDOT TSO which is located in Hanover, MD (Anne Arundel County).

Position Duties

EducationGraduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.


Experience:
Four (4) years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

*Selective Qualification: Two (2) years of the required experience must have involved inventory management and control of varied fixed assets, including tracking, maintaining, and ensuring data accuracy throughout the asset lifecycle.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
