POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide registration and customer service support to the Capitoline Center including customer service, data processing, reception, program statistics, financial reports and accounting functions.
STARTING SALARY HIRING RANGE:
$19.45 - $21.28

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Performs intermediate technical level administrative support work under general supervision from an administrative or technical superior. Work typically involves performing clerical and secretarial work, such as data entry and document management, file maintenance of secure and confidential records, and public contact and service. Work may also include accounting clerical tasks such as bookkeeping, keeping of financial and other important records; preparing vouchers for payment; documenting and depositing cash receipts; and controlling, recording, and storing data. Work at this level may also include independent responsibility for a routine clerical process.
Position Duties
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works and cooperates with co-workers and supervisors at all levels.
- Learns and performs all essential job functions accurately.
- Processes registrations via telephone, walk-in, Internet, fax and mail.
- Maintains accurate program information on the Registration Network and the data entry of the seasonal brochure.
- Processes refunds by method of payment credit cards, checks, and Refund Payment Claims.
- Reconciles and verifies daily deposits; compiles a cost analysis of registrant and brochure expense.
- Compiles data for seasonal reports.
- Provides customer service to both the internal and external clients.
- Works cooperatively with Howard County Arts Council, Asian American Pacific Islanders Commission (AAPI) staff and other county groups to achieve quality customer service.
- Maintains information and brochure displays and event signage.
- This position may be deemed as essential in an emergency at the discretion of the director.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, and three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in public relations skills, accounting procedures and effective data entry abilities.
- Competent knowledge of ActiveNet, Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
