We’re seeking a Senior Commercial Property Adjuster licensed and located in Nashville, Tennessee area to join our dynamic Claims team. This role offers the chance to work independently, manage complex claims, and contribute to strategic initiatives—all while being part of a forward-thinking organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a diverse caseload of commercial property and liability claims, including multi-party and municipal losses.
- Conduct thorough on-site and in-office investigations, gather statements, assess coverage, and identify potential fraud indicators.
- Prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate, including diagrams and supporting reports; clearly communicate findings and justifications to stakeholders.
- Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and contractors, ensuring fairness and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Manage litigation files, maintain diary reviews, and issue timely reports, including reservation of rights letters, excess carrier notifications, and status updates.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue salvage and subrogation opportunities to mitigate losses.
- Conduct risk assessments to support underwriting and claims processes.
- Provide on-the-ground assistance during catastrophe events, including occasional travel and overnight stays.
- Share expertise, support training initiatives, and serve as a potential successor for supervisory opportunities.
Skills, knowledge & expertise
- Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial property estimating and adjusting, including exposure to losses exceeding $100,000.
- Advanced proficiency in Xactimate (certification preferred).
- Proven ability to write estimates over $25K.
- Skilled in reviewing and negotiating time and materials estimates exceeding $100K.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance policies, including SIRs, excess policies, and tiered deductibles.
- Familiarity with Tennessee laws and regulations.
- Experience with TPA and municipal claims preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of organization, documentation accuracy, and problem-solving ability.
- Strong customer service focus with attention to detail and follow-through.
