About the job you’re considering

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Embedded Tester to join our team.

Your role

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans for embedded systems and IoT devices.
  • Analyze system, application, and event logs to identify issues and ensure system integrity.
  • Utilize shell scripting and Unix command-line tools for automation and diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand system architecture and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Test backend communication protocols including APIs and web services.
  • Validate software functionality across embedded platforms and full-stack environments.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance metrics, reports, and documentation.
  • Triage and prioritize defects, propose resolutions, and track corrective actions.
  • Independently identify issues, escalate when necessary, and drive resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to quality processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Your skills and experience

  • Proven experience testing embedded systems (e.g., HVAC, set-top boxes, routers, modems, switches, robots, industrial control systems, avionics).
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux OS and shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java preferred).
  • Familiarity with backend protocols and IoT device communication.
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with test planning, risk assessment, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with automation frameworks and tools.
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms and IoT ecosystems.
    • Familiarity with statistical analysis and QA metrics.
