Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Speech Pathologist provides speech-language therapy services to eligible patients. You will evaluate patients and provide individualized plans to help patients meet their needs, interests, and abilities. You will report to the Manager.

 

Primary Tasks:

  1. Provide speech and language pathology services for ages infancy through end of life.

  2. Diagnose and provide individualized treatment for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing/feeding disorders. 

  3. Guide individuals, parents, and caregivers to achieve age-appropriate communication and swallowing skills and education to aid in the carryover of skills at home and community.

  4. Communicate with physicians and co-workers to promote a “whole” treatment approach.

  5. Complete patient documentation within the electronic health record.

  6. Provide training to the facility and clinic staff in areas pertaining to speech-language therapy. 

  7. Oversee speech-language pathology assistants, students, and office personnel to ensure quality patient care.

  8. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Oklahoma License
  • ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence 
  • BLS certification within 90 days of employment
