The Controller is responsible for managing day to day financial activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, and developing strategic workflows to support the organization's growth. This role includes handling bookkeeping and accounting operations, handling invoicing and classifying cost centers, ensuring compliance with regulations, and handling all A/R and A/P functions.



 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Vendor Management: Vendor relations, invoicing, and reconciling A/P, work with Exec Leadership to analyze and recommend cost savings opportunities.
  • Budget Management: Develop, manage, and oversee center budgets and tracking performance against financial goals. Reconcile credit card accounts monthly.
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee daily accounting functions, such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll reports and general ledger. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.  Cost center breakdown of all invoices.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to maintain internal control safeguards.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, conducting audits and coordinating with external auditors as needed.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with COO to set strategic goals, develop financial models, and advise on financial implications of business decisions.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure the organization can meet its financial obligations.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and trends to provide strategic insights and recommendations for cost savings and performance improvement.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Medical financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Experience with Medical/Behavioral Health insurance billing processes.

Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods of time.

Requirements

 Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Proven healthcare experience as a Controller or in a financial management position.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online accounting software and GoogleSheets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.
