POSITION PURPOSE: 

To provide sales and operations management leadership to the builder centers in a specified region or other major geographical area by developing and implementing sales and operations goals and objectives for the purpose of profitably selling cabinets in an effort to meet and/or exceed sales and expense targets. 

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required 

Experience 

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of successful sales, marketing, or builder operations experience in the builder direct sales environment  
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience in recruiting, developing, and retaining an effective sales, marketing, or operations team. 
  • Experienced in developing, implementing, and managing sales, marketing, or operations programs. 
  • Successful track record of sales, account management and customer relations 

 

Skills 

  • Excellent oral and written communication and organization skills 
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft office products. 
  • Ability to build effective business relationships. 

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s   degree   in   sales, marketing, general business or related field, master’s in business administration preferred.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Develop and implement builder direct sales and operations plans for specified territory. 
  • Develop business relationships to promote builder direct sales and efficient operations. 
  • Manage cost of sales within target guidelines providing leverage for both channel and company. 
  • Motivate sales force to meet or exceed target sales and expense budgets. 
  • Provide effective field service to all customers. 
  • Sell and manage major accounts. 
  • Overall strategy development in support of the AWC and builder direct visions 
  • Direct sales effort to achieve a richer product.  
  • Ensure high level of product/program merchandising execution. 
  • Recruit, develop and retain an effective sales force using recruiting strategies and succession planning. 
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: 
  • This position is responsible for the management and supervision of multiple service center locations in a specific region including sales and operations.  
  • Oversees Regional Sales Manager, Regional Operations Manager, Operations Services Manager. 

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Develop sales and expense budgets for assigned division 
  • Recruit, select, develop, and retain effective sales force 
  • Meet or exceed sales and expense budgets 
  • Maintain quality business relationships with key customers 
  • Monitor and act on all division metric reporting 
  • Participate in cross-functional teams 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of product/program merchandising initiatives  
  • Align with American Woodmark policies and procedures in performing responsibilities 
  • Be a model of the American Woodmark culture 

 

SCOPE & EXPECATIONS:  

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret business reports, technical drawings, and customer specifications. Communicate effectively with customers, builders, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure project alignment. 
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations related to measurements, design specifications, and material quantities. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Strong analytical and decision-making skills to manage multiple priorities and resolve complex project or customer challenges. 
  • Physical Demands: Typical office environment; some walking, standing, or light lifting (up to 20 lbs) may be required. 
  • Working Conditions: Standard office hours with flexibility to accommodate project needs. 
  • Reports to: VP New Construction 
  • Travel Requirements 
  • Significant travel, both in and out of town, is required. Travel is typically by company car and commercial air carrier.  
  • Some out-of-town travel is required up to 25%.  
  • The recruitment process may consist of any combination of phone, video, and in-person interviews.
