We are currently looking to fill a Storage and Maintenance Coordinator (Transporter) role at our DuPage office.
SALARY:
- The average starting hourly rate for this position will fall in the range of $18 and $19 hourly. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.
This role is on an hours-to-be-reported basis, will include evening and weekend hours. (Max. 19.25 hours weekly.)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for picking up donated items including some furniture.
- Responsible for delivering sold items as needed.
- Provide courteous customer service with the ability to decline donations if unsuitable for resale.
- Responsible for following training received as to appropriate procedures to us when picking up, delivering and declining donations.
- Responsible for safe handling of all items with particular care at donor location.
- Maintain and manage the organization and cleanliness of Treasure House van and external storage facilities.
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate gas and service receipt records for van.
- Collaborate with management staff to increase donation pickups each week with improvement in both quality and quantity of donated items.
- Train and supervise community service volunteers as needed.
- Collaborate with manager to locate new less expensive and geographically closer storage in line with revised needs.
- Manage stock rooms at both stores maintaining current inventory weekly and aiding in the re-ordering of supplies, including toilet paper, towel rolls, folded bathroom paper towels, packaging wrap, and all pricing and cleaning supplies.
- Gutter cleaning 4 times per year at Treasure House as scheduled and more often if needed.
- Maintain weed reduction in TH back and side alleys on a regular basis.
- Clean and maintain bathrooms as needed in coordination with cleaning services.
- Assist Wipeco and Wayside storing and loading.
- Manage off season bin storage at both stores and maintain bin count and type inventory including sorting of non-Christmas items monthly and/or as needed.
- Work with managers to eliminate/sell excess inventory at both locations and from storage locations.
- Manage regular maintenance upkeep and organization of resale shop van.
- Assist customers with loading and unloading items when onsite at the stores.
- Additional misc. duties: top shelf dusting, dusting chandeliers, extra vacuuming below racks as needed, and small maintenance throughout the stores (i.e. paint touchup, changing light fixtures, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Ability to provide courteous and accommodating demeanor with customers and donors.
- Ability to work varied hours as needed including some evenings and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School education or equivalent education required.
- 1+ year of demonstrated experience in general maintenance required.
ADDTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and criminal background checks.
TRANSPORTATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Traveling required. Travel between sites required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
