Hill Brothers Transportation is seeking a Settlement Coordinator to serve as the lead expert for all accounting and ticket-related matters. This role is a cornerstone of our operations, working diligently behind the scenes to ensure our customers and carriers are paid quickly and correctly— keeping our business relationships strong and our operations running smoothly.
This position offers a comprehensive 360-degree view of back-office operations in the transportation industry. You'll manage the full settlement lifecycle, from Bills of Lading and weight losses to detention requests and accessorial charges. What You'll Do
Settlement Processing & Verification
- Verify accuracy of load settlements based on carrier-submitted documentation
- Review and analyze settlement discrepancies with customers and carriers
- Ensure efficient processing of loads from start to finish
- Monitor settlement timelines to maintain quick payment turnaround
Documentation & Follow-Up
- Follow up on proof of deliveries, accessorial charges, and weight losses
- Review and validate Bills of Lading for accuracy and completeness
- Process detention requests and related documentation
- Maintain organized records of all settlement activities
Support & Problem Resolution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Accounting Team on settlement issues
- Resolve discrepancies through effective communication with customers and carriers
- Address daily challenges that arise in the logistics settlement process
- Proactively identify and solve work-related problems
Process Management
- Ensure efficiency in closing out loads and completing settlements
- Maintain company policies and procedures in all settlement activities
- Support continuous improvement in settlement processes
- Collaborate across departments to streamline operations
Requirements
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Certification: TIA Certified Transportation Broker (preferred but not required)

- Constant handling and fingering for computer work
- Schedule: M-F 8AM-5PM; May vary based on business needs
