Summary: Dime Community Bank (Dime) is currently hiring a Group Leader - Commercial Banking at its corporate office in Westchester, New York. The Group Leader - Commercial Banking, should come to this role with experience in commercial banking, maintaining the growth of a loan and deposit portfolio and servicing multiple client relationships.

Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $225,000 to $325,000 annually. The exact compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, and location.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring “book of business”.
  • Achieve annual loan goals and deposit growth goals.
  • Work with branch staff to develop lending relationships with existing depository clients.
  • Work with branch staff to develop new depository and lending relationships.
  • Develop new depository and lending relationships from the Group Leader’s own referral sources.
  • Manage and serve a portfolio of relationships with an emphasis on client retention, cross-selling and growing the existing portfolio.
  • Develop new business relationships consisting of both loan and deposit products.
  • Manage the lending relationships that the Group Leader would bring to Dime.
  • Manage a team of relationship managers to manage the portfolio and develop additional depository and lending relationships.
  • Supervise and train team to meet their sales goals and credit responsibilities.
  • Ensure credit files for all loans are complete and prepared for credit administration and regulatory review.
  • Review underwriting.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ commercial banking / lending experience in the middle market and/or C&I in Westchester and New Jersey; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Credit training or significant experience in credit analysis.
  • Experience developing and managing commercial banking relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience managing a team of relationship managers.
  • Must be willing to “build a portfolio and a team” if necessary.
  • Ensure regulatory and policy compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
