Early Years Practitioner 

Location: Kinloss, Moray 

Salary: £26,674.27 per annum  

Contract/Hours: Permanent/Part Time – 37 hours per week 

Closing date: Midnight on DATE

About the nursery 

Spring Kinloss is a friendly and welcoming nursery providing high quality early learning and childcare for children aged zero to five years.  We're a growing setting with exciting developments ahead, including the addition of a new playroom and the expansion of our outdoor learning provision.

Spring Kinloss is based in a large, purpose-built centre with bright, well-resourced rooms for babies, toddlers and preschool children.  Our enclosed garden area gives children opportunities to explore, investigate, and extend their learning through play and discovery. 

We’re proud of our caring, supportive staff and our commitment to professional growth.  Our practitioners receive ongoing training and development through the National Day Nurseries Association, including courses on pedagogy, child development, Realising the Ambition and supporting children with additional needs. 

 

About the role 

We're looking for a qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team you'll play a key role in providing high-quality care and early learning experiences for children aged zero to five years, working closely with colleagues and families, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child can learn, play and thrive.  To apply, you should hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent and be registered (or eligible to register) with the SSSC. 

This role is 37 hours per week, but we are open to discussing flexible working options.

If you don’t yet hold formal qualifications but have a genuine passion for early years, we encourage you to apply and develop your career with us.

What you’ll be doing    

In the role of Early Years Practitioner (Level 3), you'll be:  

  •  Supervising children and keeping our active, flexible nursery environment safe and suited to their needs. 
  • Giving children a wide range of stimulating, safe and well-planned activities. 
  • Creating engaging, fun and informative learning opportunities, to help children make excellent progress in the Early Years Foundation Stage. 
  • Building solid relationships with parents / carers, families and professionals involved with the children. 
  • Meeting each of the children's individual needs, keeping accurate records and regularly communicating with parents / carers. 
  • Having a positive attitude, making every single day count for the children in our care. 

 

What we need from you    

In the role of Early Years Practitioner (Level 3), we're ideally looking for someone who has:  

  • A SCQF level 7 Early Years qualification e.g. HNC Early Education & Childcare, NNEB, SCCEB, SVQ 3 Children’s Care Learning & Development or equivalent qualification recognised by the SSSC (refer to SSSC website for further information). 
  • A passion to learn and develop whether you are newly qualified or an experienced practitioner. 
  • Full understanding of children's emotional, physical, psychological and educational developmental needs from 0 to 5 years. 
  • A positive attitude with an unwavering commitment to service excellence to allow us to maintain our high standards.
