Within the context of a client- and family-centered model of care and in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care (PHC), this position promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff.The Leader, Business IT Solutions (BITS) plays a pivotal role in advancing PHC’s business systems and digital initiatives. Reporting to the Director, CMO & BITS, the Leader ensures the consistent application of policies, processes, and systems that drive value, mitigate risk, and enhance performance across PHC. Through oversight of product ownership, project delivery, and tier-1 support, this role is a change agent for technology adoption and business transformation initiatives.This position partners closely with internal programs, provincial service providers (e.g., PDHIS/PHSA), and vendors to prioritize projects, manage the full lifecycle of business applications, and develop organizational standards, tools, and education that support best practices in business systems management.The Leader provides leadership and management for a multidisciplinary team of project managers, product owners, and support specialists. The Leader offers mentorship and guidance, ensures consistency in work quality, and removes blockers to successful service delivery.As a member of the Business IT Solutions department, the Leader participates respectfully and productively, provides and accepts thoughtful counsel, and champions excellence at every level.
What You Bring
Education, Training and Experience:
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in a related discipline such as Information Technology, Business Administration, or Health Administration is required.
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in IT, enterprise systems, or digital transformation, preferably in a multi-site or public-sector environment.
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL are preferred.
- Experience with provincial shared-service models (e.g., PDHIS, PHSA) considered an asset.
Skills and Abilities:
- Systems & Technology Expertise: Strong knowledge of enterprise application management, product ownership, and IT governance.
- Strategic Thinking & Analysis: Proven ability to translate trends into actionable strategies and business cases.
- Project & Change Management: Skilled in managing multiple priorities, using recognized methodologies, and guiding organizational change.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and build cross-functional relationships.
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written skills, able to convey complex information clearly.
- Organizational & Technical Proficiency: Strong organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, JIRA, SharePoint, and related tools.
- Adaptability & Innovation: Creative, flexible, and proactive in meeting client needs within policy and legislative constraints.
