This position will design and build objects that are needed in the production facility. The fabricator will receive drawing from engineering for the desired shape of the object. The fabricator may also perform other functions as diagnosing and repairing equipment, mold changes, equipment installation, and other duties as assigned when the need arises. This position is set in a fast pace manufacturing environment. The position is expected to adhere to the company’s quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Laying out, cutting, fitting, measuring, and welding metals to create the desired shape or object.
· Read and interpret blueprints.
· Interpret assembly instructions.
· Inspect and test welds for durability.
· Recognize welding symbols and specifications.
· Assist in any material purchases that are needed per project.
· Remove any scale from weld areas.
· Use various metal working tools such as grinder, mig welder and tig welder.
Qualification/ Experience/Education Requirements
· Must have 2-5 years welding experience
· Should be familiar with applicable regulatory requirements outlined by OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC and other state/local organizations.
· Machining capabilities are a plus.
· Computer literature, i.e., Microsoft-Office applications
Physical requirement
· Work performed in a factory setting; frequently walks the production shop floor.
· Regularly lifts and/or move up to 40 lbs and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
· Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, kneel, crouch and walk about the production facility.
Regularly required to use their hands and fingers to feel objects that may be hot
