Our Samsung Electronics America Retail Operations Team is a growing a best in class organization within Samsung worldwide. We continue to challenge the existing retail models and processes to makes this team the home for talented, driven, and creative professionals, who want to be on the front lines of consumer electronics sales. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Reporting into the Sr. Retail Operations Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will have direct accountability for driving the overall store performance
  • Accountable for meeting and exceeding goals for customer experience and reputation, store revenue and profitability.
  • Contributes to the development, design, and implementation of complex store roll outs.
  • Assist the Store Manager in the development and deployment of retail flagship playbooks, and contributes to the overall success of future store openings.
  • Assist in the development of best in class retail operations and experiences in a highly competitive landscape
  • Identifies and resolves store issues, informing or escalating as appropriate to field leadership or corporate support teams.
  • Drives operational compliance of back office processes, procedures, and policies with associates; informs store operator of any gaps in compliance and performs follow-up to ensure opportunities are addressed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all associates are highly knowledgeable on Samsung products and services; ensures associates possess the soft skills necessary to educate and empower consumers.
  • Models effective sales and support behaviors by spending time on sales floor; observes associate/customer interactions and provides in-the-moment coaching or recognition accordingly; performs role plays with associates to demonstrate “what good looks like”
  • Responsible for ensuring location maintains store standards for merchandising, product functionality, asset protection, and safety; ensures store merchandising and marketing resets are executed according to standards and guidelines; performs basic fixture and display troubleshooting; ensures any malfunctioning displays are replaced in a timely fashion
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve store operations or customer experience and develops solutions with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and drive best practices to improve sales or profitability and shares those best practices with peers and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for ensuring store’s weekly labor schedule is within allocated labor budget and daily staffing levels are aligned to anticipated business needs.
  • Provides critical insight into trends in customer sentiments towards the Samsung brand as well as identify any opportunities or competitor threats in the marketplace to program stakeholders.
  • Responsible for ensuring all escalated customer service issues are resolved.
  • Responsible for ensuring location maintains store profitability by ensuring sellable inventory is secured and daily cycle counts are completed, variance are researched and reported via PUMI, Store/warehouse transfers are completed to Samsung standard minimizing shrink and BOH errors in partnership with supply chain

Background/Experience Required:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; or 4-6 years of directly related experience and consistent upward mobility without a BS Degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in large big box or specialty retailer
  • 4+ years of experience leading a team of associates
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills including a proven ability to write in a clear and grammatically correct manner.
  • Highly effective facilitation skills with the ability to provide relevant examples to leadership at all levels within the field sales team organization.
  • Communicates with senior leadership without undue tension or nervousness. 
  • Ability to understand the meaning and implications of KPIs and ability to use business analysis to generate, evaluate, and act on strategic options and opportunities. 
  • A positive “Solve for Yes” attitude, and solutions-oriented approach to business
  • Excels in judgement for balancing competing priorities and advance the initiatives/projects with the highest impact to the business.
  • Breaks down projects into appropriate indicatives and actions with relevant milestones and timelines.  Focuses on highest priorities and sets aside less critical tasks.
  • Works cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives. 
  • Highly adept at influencing change without direct management oversight or authority.

Necessary Skills and Attributes:

Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within customer's organizations. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple strategic programs and simultaneous performance objectives. The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and apply learnings from required trainings.  Must have the ability to navigate challenging customer situations and work to achieve a positive and transparent outcome. Remains calm and composed when there are multiple requests coming in simultaneously, while ensuring order within the store.
