The role you will contribute:
Demonstrates proficiency or advanced functional knowledge of internal and, applicable third-party solutions, and the Microsoft suite of products. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with all stakeholders; meets with customers and sponsors to capture business and technical requirements. Assesses workflow processes, identifies gaps, defines necessary process changes, and develops future workflows related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality.
Designs, builds, and configures within assigned system modules and any supporting third-party applications; develops and maintains system process documentation and outlines process steps using appropriate tools; identifies and implements requested changes to the system. Designs and develops test scripts and materials for end-to-end workflow testing; performs unit, system, and integration testing per standards, including negative and regression testing; documents outcomes. Remains current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates; ensures all software modifications/upgrades are working according to system specifications. Follows departmental standards for software configuration control, quality assurance, and version releases; provides documentation on system upgrades and new releases of system applications; provides training if required. Troubleshoots issues or system deficiencies and initiates escalation procedures as required; provides recommendations for resolution of the problems found. Leads multiple cross-functional projects; understands project planning and coordination methodologies using project management skills, tools, and Lean methodologies; communicates project status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.
Actively participates in and leads project, team, departmental, and other meetings as required, reports status updates, accomplishments, tasks, and any barriers to the manager. Oversees projects with minimal supervision, including planning, design, execution, and ongoing monitoring of activities to ensure successful completion and meeting deadlines. Acts as a super user of supported applications, trains, and mentors new employees with some coaching. Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for overseeing the system build and implementation of clinical, revenue cycle, and business systems to meet organizational goals. This position analyzes business problems and recommends solutions to improve patient care delivery, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance patient experiences. This role coordinates with physicians and end users to analyze workflows, perform gap analyses, identify necessary process changes, and develop future workflows during new solution implementations. In addition, this position communicates with hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff. Additionally, this role leads a team of analysts in designing, building, implementing, supporting, and testing internal and third-party applications.
EPIC Cupid Certification is preferred
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Demonstrates advanced functional knowledge of one of the following applications: Epic Beaker (Genlab, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Anatomic Pathology, Outreach Services, Medical Device Integration, Point of Care Device Integration or Reference Lab Interfaces).
Associate Field of Study: Chemical or Biological Science, healthcare-related field, or Information Technology
5+ in leading teams and providing feedback; communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience; and documenting workflow design and identifying areas for improvement.
Epic Certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes.
Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in one of the discipline or fields mentioned above.
Mature, independent professional judgment and ability to work with no supervision.
Advanced ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities and projects within deadline constraints.
Advanced knowledge of HL7 concepts and operating within an integrated healthcare applications environment.
High degree of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise of clinical/technical workflows.
Technical skills and aptitudes in computer-related applications or functions in Information Systems-related aspects of laboratory testing and processes.
Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read text and numbers in English, and comprehend, measure, calculate, reason, and match.
Rapid learner.
Microsoft Office suite experience; proficient in PowerPoint and Visio presentations.
Knowledge of clinical/revenue cycle/business/technical workflow.
Proficiency of related application suite of products (within 3 months of completing classes).
Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations is required.
