Job Description
Position:              Service Associate
Department:        Del Sol Marketplace
Job Summary:     Generates sales, assists with merchandising, and safeguards the assets of the Enterprise while
                            providing outstanding guest service.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Welcomes and greets all guests; ensures they receive outstanding service by maintaining a professional level of communication as well as demonstrating solid product knowledge at all times.
 - Interacts with guests, assists in locating or using products/merchandise, and convinces them to make purchases.
 - Informs supervisor of special requests.
 - Processes credit card and cash transactions and bags merchandise. Assures accuracy of sales data and cash handling, including balancing of assigned bank.
 - Redeems scripts, vouchers, coupons, and receipts for products.
 - Monitors the sale of designated items to ensure that minors do not come in possession of them. Requests to see identification from any person who appears to be under a certain age and maintains an alertness to any suspicious activity that may indicate that a guest of the proper age is buying these items for an underage person.Produces end of shift reports.
 - Exhibits results-oriented behavior by resolving problems and anticipating needs.
 - Addresses issues in a pleasant and professional manner and keeps the supervisor informed; refers situations that are difficult to resolve to a supervisor.
 - Passes all retail sales goals successfully.
 - Maintains the proper display of goods on the floor, monitors date codes, ensures goods and services are properly priced, and ensures goods meet established quality standards.
 - Assists in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.
 - Assists in processing and replenishing merchandise as well as monitoring floor stock.
 - Assists in completing price changes.
 - Participates in regular inventory and cycle counts.
 - Maintains an awareness of promotions and advertisements.
 - Notifies supervisor if equipment is broken and needs repair or replacement.
 - Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
 - Maintains cleanliness of store areas throughout the shift practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
 - Displays a diplomatic, polished, and professional demeanor in the workplace.
 - Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
 - Fosters a team environment by working collaboratively with co-workers.
 - Displays initiative and ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision.
 - Participates in professional development activities such as sales trainings.
 - Maintains an awareness of current trends in the convenience store industry.
 - Acts as a resource for Enterprise policies, programs, services, and activities.
 - Attends departmental and Enterprise meetings, as required.
 - Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information; protects Enterprise assets.
 - Maintains a current valid Arizona Driver’s License.
 - Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of convenience store industry standards.
 - Knowledge of merchandising and suggestive selling.
 - Knowledge of departmental and Enterprise policies, standards, and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.
 - Knowledge of guest service practices.
 - Knowledge of cash handling policies and procedures, including manual cash counts and reconciliation.
 - Knowledge of safety practices, policies, and procedures.
 - Proficiency with cash registers, calculators, currency transactions, and point of sale systems.
 - Organizational and time management skills.
 - Good communication skills.
 - Skill in working courteously with guests as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.

 - Ability to operate all equipment needed for the position, such as cash registers, calculators, computer, and photocopier.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
 - One (1) year of retail sales experience.
 - Proficiency with cash registers, calculators, currency transactions, and point of sale systems.
 - Ability to maintain the physical stamina required, including an ability to stand for long periods.
 - Ability to lift and move twenty (20) or more pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
 - Demonstrated track record of providing excellent guest service.
 - Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
 - Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
 - Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
 - Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
 - Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school or General Equivalency Diploma.
 - Bilingual (English/Spanish)
