Department: HR-Workforce Development
Reports to: Workforce Development Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00 PM
Job Location: Hybrid (Remote and Onsite in Lake City, SC -Pee Dee Region); travel required within South Carolina
Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator supports the implementation and management of the Pathway Out: Examining and Strengthening the Pathway Out initiative—part of a statewide grant-funded effort to strengthen the rural and underserved healthcare workforce pipeline across South Carolina.
This position will be based within the HR-Workforce Development Department in the Pee Dee Division and will report to the Workforce Development Manager. The Program Coordinator will assist in coordinating mentorship activities, student and alumni engagement, site assessments, and partner communications in collaboration with SC AHEC, MUSC Colleges, and clinical site leaders.
Job Duties:
Program Coordination and Implementation – 40%
- Support day-to-day coordination of project activities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Assist in planning and executing program events, meetings, and communications with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with academic, clinical, and community partners to implement mentorship and support programs.
- Partner with MUSC Health Site Leaders and Student Placement Coordinators from MUSC Colleges to facilitate placements of MUSC Students within the Regional Health Network.
Workforce and Alumni Engagement – 20%
- Track and maintain data on recent healthcare graduates working in rural or underserved areas.
- Coordinate alumni engagement activities and feedback collection to support retention and job satisfaction.
- Assist with implementation of workforce development tools and resources.
- Explore and establish an RHN MUSC Alumni group to maintain connections, mentorship opportunities, and long-term engagement.
Partner and Site Coordination – 20%
- Serve as a liaison to SC AHEC, MUSC Colleges, and clinical partners to ensure alignment with grant objectives.
- Assist with scheduling and logistics for site visits, clinical housing coordination, and site assessments.
- Participate in regional and statewide collaboration meetings as needed.
Data Collection and Reporting – 20%
- Assist in data gathering and analysis related to student experiences, site satisfaction, mentorship, and workforce trends.
- Contribute to internal and external reporting, including grant progress updates.
- Ensure data integrity and maintain confidentiality in accordance with institutional policy.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education:
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in program coordination, workforce development, student services, or related area.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel within the state as needed.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with healthcare professionals, students, or academic programs.
- Familiarity with rural health or workforce development programs.
- Prior experience supporting grant-funded initiatives.
- Knowledge of South Carolina’s healthcare education and clinical site landscape.
- Experience using Tableau or other data mapping/visualization applications.
