Job Description:

This job is responsible for executing substantive money laundering, economic sanctions and fraud compliance and operational risk practices. Key responsibilities include working directly or through compliance officers for the Front Line Units (FLUs) and Control Functions (CFs) to complete compliance, policy, operational/fraud risk management requirements.

The Global Financial Crimes Manager - Training Governance & Oversight is responsible for providing risk oversight and advice to the Line of Business (LOB) on risk management issues. Key responsibilities include identifying risks, implementing measures to prevent and mitigate risks, and monitoring risk outcomes. This role will also execute processes and use tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide standards. This role is responsible for leading and executing on internal control discipline and operational excellence within the GFC EAC through ongoing monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation, and building out actions plans and milestones. Additional responsibilities for this role include owning and managing project plans and action item deliverables as part of a regulatory enforcement action. This role requires prior experience speaking to audit and engaging with ELTs.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in establishing risk management procedures, standards, analyses and reports.

  • Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company.

  • Oversee holistic audit/exam submissions, coordinating requests for teams across GFC and The Academy.

  • Exercises intellectual curiosity and judgment to effectively influence and challenge teams to improve the control environment and drive continuous improvements.

  • Partner with key stakeholders within GFC, The Academy, and FLU AML teams

  • Present tollgates/closure packs to Regulators and/or Audit Partners, and GCOR.

  • Develop written responses to Audit/Regulatory requests and internal process documentation.

  • Conducts execution of risk framework activities including independent monitoring and testing of controls and risk management processes

  • Ensure appropriate and adequate documentation is maintained for policy and program requirements.

  • Establish, develop, and monitor risk program requirements, including policies and ensuring governance deliverables owned by the 2nd line of defense (GFC) are met in a timely and effective manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of seven years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) and related AML legislation

  • Experience in business risk & controls

  • Experience in Compliance & Operational Risk, Risk Management, Audit, or the execution of quality assurance activities

  • Deep understanding of GFC Enterprise wide and all FLU AML teams and functionalities

  • Advanced understanding of issue management processes

  • Experience managing regulatory exams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide guidance, consultation, and effective feedback

  • Takes Initiative; ability to work through a large volume of ongoing deliverables, manage projects, and pivot between tactical and strategic tasks

  • Executive presence and experience in effectively interacting with senior management regarding risk program requirements, deliverables, and key issues.

  • Ability to navigate in a matrixed environment

  • Effective partnering skills to build consensus; proven ability to influence peers/stakeholders across multiple groups

  • Critical thinker with the ability to see the big picture and connect dots horizontally

  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple competing/concurrent priorities and deadlines

  • Knowledgeable of Bank of America’s business lines, operations, organizational structure, senior executives, etc. 

  • Strong analytical skills, including excellent writing, proofreading, and presentation skills; analysis of written reports and documentation with great attention to detail and strong data analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Strong personal drive, individual initiative, a sense of urgency, and responsiveness, with a desire to grow, learn, and take on increasing levels of responsibility

  • Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

  • Experience in financial services and/or a related government entity

  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
