Introducing the role

This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the PC CHRO to support on the strategic direction of the People Plan, while also Partnering PC Chief Supply Chain Officer and central teams. As the Supply Chain HR Business Partner, you will be a key partner to leadership, providing expertise in talent management, organisational design and workforce planning. Collaborating closely with business leaders to drive performance, enhance employee engagement, capability and support a culture of continuous improvement. As the Chief of staff to the PC CHRO, you will develop the overall HR strategy and key priorities, lead some key HR transformation initiatives in partnership with the PCHRLT and PCLT.

This role requires a high level of credibility across key stakeholders, understanding of the business and resilience. You will also form part of a multi-disciplinary team including members of the T&O team, People Analytics, People Experience and Reward to create an outstanding end-to-end employee experience for our teams who are based across the globe in our PC BG and Supply Chain community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trusted partner and coach to senior leaders in our Business Group Central teams, focused on the development and delivery of our people agenda, aligned to the business strategy.

  • Partner with Supply Chain leadership to deliver HR solutions aligned to business strategy and priorities.

  • Lead organisation design, workforce planning, and talent management for the Supply Chain function.

  • Setting the in-year and multi-year people priorities.

  • Understanding the current organisation design and the gaps and collaborating with business leaders to resource for value and build workforce plans.

  • Building deep business understanding and knowledge of the business area and strategy (internally and externally).

  • Business partnering the leadership team, ensuring HR solutions and interventions are delivered on time in full, leveraging scale and consistency where appropriate.

  • Ensuring two-way continuous dialogue and engagement across a geographically spread team in different countries.

  • Leveraging HR data insights and analytics to drive people and business decisions.

  • Identify specific learning needs and deliver the relevant capability agenda and interventions, in partnership with Expertise and Innovation functional Learning and People Growth and Development teams.

  • Supporting CHRO on strategic projects including managing transformation of strategic initiatives across Culture, Talent & Organisation.

  • Key role driving engagement with our PC HR Community through power hour and other initiatives.

  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating an inclusive climate and empowering teams to perform at their best

Skills and Experience

  • Proven knowledge and experience in HR leadership roles across different areas of HR, managing senior stakeholders, internal and external and delivery through others.

  • Ability to self-start and take initiative.

  • Demonstrated strong organisational awareness and business understanding in previous HR roles.

  • Systematic and strategic thinking, being able to consider longer term implications for the business, society, and ecosystems. A deep understanding of the business and levers to pull, engaging others to prioritize and pursue opportunities that deliver significant growth for Unilever and have a positive impact on the world.

  • An owner’s mindset, being able to use financial acumen, data, and insights to inform thinking that both makes the complex simple for others, creates a sense of urgency with a business edge and can show how those insights have created impact and delivered business value.

  • Make bold decisions and support them fiercely.

  • Business Acumen – working so closely with the business group, it’s critical you are fluent with the financials, and particularly the innovation and brand development models.

  • Understanding of external HR landscape and HR thought leaders, resourceful in sourcing data, insights, perspectives and working with external HR partners for support where necessary

  • Excellent PMO skills – resourceful in seeking out inputs from relevant experts and connecting the dots across the business and HR function as a whole. Building collaborative and supportive relationships with colleagues , listening to concerns and inputs and taking account of context and impact of deadlines and other priorities.

  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.

  • Working with and juggling multiple interfaces and working well in a team.

  • Capacity to understand problems and issues in the context of the bigger picture and complex interpersonal relationships.

  • Be highly networked and able to deliver collaboratively with others, working with colleagues cross-functionally across the globe.

Additional Information

  • The role is located in London, travel between sites may be required to ensure the role is visible and remains close to the Supply Chain leaders and teams.

Location 

In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London. This site will house some employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars together with colleagues who are currently located in Lever House in Kingston. We are excited to be creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment. The campus is due to be completed in 2026.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
