JobType: full-time

Lead the end-to-end People, Industrial Relations (IR), and Administration functions for a high-throughput manufacturing site. This role ensures complete statutory compliance, stable manpower availability, strong shopfloor engagement, continuous capability building, and efficient management of site services — all while maintaining productivity, cost-effectiveness, and a positive workplace culture.

Requirements

Key Outcomes

  • Achieve 100% compliance with all applicable Labour Laws and the Factories Act.
  • Maintain audit-ready Time Office, payroll inputs, and statutory records.
  • Implement a robust manpower plan ensuring timely hiring across production, maintenance, utilities, QA/QC, ETP, and logistics.
  • Execute the annual training calendar with measurable upskilling, safety, and behavioral outcomes.
  • Ensure transparent grievance redressal, timely resolutions, and zero industrial unrest.
  • Optimize administrative operations across canteen, transport, security, and housekeeping functions.

Key Responsibilities

Statutory Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with Factories Act, CLRA, ID Act, Payment of Wages, Minimum Wages, Bonus, Gratuity, EPF, ESIC, LWF, and related state rules.
  • Maintain statutory registers, returns, licenses, and renewals; represent the organization during inspections and audits.
  • Monitor implementation of new Labour Codes and update internal policies and SOPs accordingly.
  • Conduct regular HR audits and ensure timely closure of CAPA actions.

Time Office and Payroll

  • Manage attendance, shift rosters, overtime controls, leave administration, and contractor muster rolls.
  • Validate payroll data to ensure accurate and timely disbursements in coordination with Finance.
  • Track and improve productivity KPIs such as absenteeism, overtime, and manpower cost per unit.

Talent Acquisition

  • Develop and execute a hiring plan for operators, technicians, and engineers across production, maintenance, QA/QC, ETP, and utilities.
  • Source candidates from industrial clusters, ITIs, polytechnics, and nearby regions; manage agencies and SLAs.
  • Conduct trade tests, assessments, and pre-employment medicals to ensure workforce readiness.

Training and Development

  • Execute an annual training plan aligned with a live skills matrix.
  • Organize statutory and technical training on safety, first aid, firefighting, and material handling.
  • Facilitate supervisory and behavioral training programs, ensuring measurable impact and effectiveness.

Employee Relations and Grievance Management

  • Maintain a transparent grievance redressal mechanism with defined turnaround times.
  • Conduct communication forums, suggestion drives, and shopfloor engagement sessions.
  • Oversee disciplinary processes as per Standing Orders; manage POSH compliance and awareness initiatives.

Administration and Site Services

  • Supervise canteen operations, transport planning, PPE/uniform issuance, and visitor management.
  • Govern security and housekeeping vendors through defined SOPs, SLAs, and audits.
  • Manage housing or hostel facilities where applicable.

HR Systems and Analytics

  • Promote active usage of HRMS for Time Office, leave, claims, and helpdesk management.
  • Publish monthly HR dashboards covering headcount, hiring pipeline, attendance, attrition, OT, training, and safety metrics.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Plant HR and Administration at manufacturing sites.
  • Proven experience managing sites with 300+ workforce and turnover of ₹300–500 Cr.
  • Direct exposure to statutory compliance, inspectorate interactions, and contractor workforce governance.

Education

  • MBA or PGDM in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
  • LLB or Diploma in Labour Laws preferred.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of labour laws and factory compliance.
  • Strong command of Time Office management, wage administration, and contractor governance.
  • Proficiency in technical hiring for shopfloor and support functions.
  • Hands-on experience in training design and facilitation.
  • Proficient in HRMS systems and Excel.
  • Fluency in Gujarati or Hindi preferred.
