Wood is recruiting for a Study Manager to join its Minerals and Metals (M&M) business focusing on large mining project. This opportunity is based at our Vancouver, BC office and is hybrid.

The Role
Wood Minerals and Metals business currently has an exciting opportunity for a talented Study Manager with superior mining pre-feasibility and feasibility experience, strong leadership skills and specific knowledge and experience with lithium, gold, copper and other precious metals.
The Study Manager will have overall responsibility for overseeing the development of budgets, schedules and reports as well as for the management and coordination of project staff and subcontractors to ensure safe, cost-effective, efficient and timely completion of Studies in order to meet and/or exceed client expectations.

- Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market. Salary range for this position is CAD $170,000 - $200,000 per year. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Study execution strategy
- Manage, execute and deliver best practice systems and processes in designated studies and consulting services, in alignment with Wood’s objectives and client requirements
- Manage the process of preparation of designated study documents to ensure quality and accuracy of information
- Manage preliminary economic assessments and pre-feasibility studies for mining clients
- Ensure overall project scope of services and scope of work is performed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner that meets and/or exceeds client expectations
- Provide leadership to the project team on HSSE matters and ensure that all employees and contractors carry out their duties and responsibilities as defined in the project HSSE execution plan
- Monitor and review all project delivery components including administration, document control, project control, staff planning, engineering, supply chain management, CAPEX, OPEX, construction, and pre-commissioning
- Oversee the development of all project budgets, schedules and progress reports
- Develop and manage project-specific change and risk management systems
- Ensure project requirements for permits, licenses and regulatory agency approvals are met and up to date
- Organize and lead planning sessions, team building workshops and project coordination meetings
- Ensure an appropriate review process is implemented for the project including internal and client project reviews, risk reviews, constructability and independent peer reviews

Expected:
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Geology, Mining, Engineering or related field of study, from a recognized university
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the mining industry with significant experience in consulting and/or operations environment
- Previous experience as a study manager, project manager, project engineer, engineering manager or lead on several mining projects/studies
- Exceptional client relationship and internal team management skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop new, proprietary and innovative solutions to current processes
- Strong leadership, solid communication & interpersonal skills are required
- Completion of a diploma or degree in a certified project management program is considered an asset
- A willingness to travel, both domestic and internationally, for varying durations and at times to remote locations
