The Engineering Services Department consists of three separate sections, Land Development, Project Delivery, and Transportation with a total of twenty-four (24) staff spanning various roles.

From its earliest days, the City of Rancho Cucamonga was dubbed the "City with a Plan" and over the past forty years, we have been creating a World Class Community. So, what does this have to do with engineering? Everything!

Engineering is more than simply building and maintaining roads, it's about providing the built environment that is the context for the people and the places of our lives. As we move into our fifth decade as a City, we are continuing to build a World Class Community for our children and grandchildren to enjoy. One that takes the best parts of our past and continues growing and reimagining itself for the future. We are excited to have the opportunity to play a big part in what is coming next for our community.

Position Duties

The Engineering Services Department is looking to fill a Part-Time, Temporary Administrative Assistant position (through at least June 30, 2026) to support the full-time administrative and leadership team in completing a comprehensive physical and digital file cleanup and document storage process improvement project. You will utilize the City’s records retention policy as well as project file best practices to streamline existing records by helping de-bulk, prepare for digitization, discern what can be destroyed and what will need to be maintained in physical form, and develop new systems and processes for future document management and control.

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone who takes pride in helping others succeed.
  • Experience in administrative support, customer service, or records maintenance/management.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, solve problems, and streamline processes.
  • A friendly, welcoming presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position might be perfect for you if:

  • Thrive on organization!
  • You love looking for patterns and insights to gain a better understanding of how to navigate or improve a situation.
  • You are detail-oriented and like to find the little things that make a big difference.
  • You are a self-starter who enjoys problem solving and critical thinking.
