Type: Non-exempt (Temporary)
Compensation: $18.40 - $24.32 per hour
Work Schedule: Part-Time (Position is expected to work 20 – 22 hours per week, and is not expected to exceed 12 weeks.)
As a Temporary Technical Trades Teachers Aid, you'll… The Technical Trades Teachers Aid supports Tessera’s Technical Trades Instructor. With direction and guidance from the Technical Trades Instructor, the Technical Trades Teachers Aide will support the delivery of hands-on technical instruction in an adult education program that aligns with Tessera’s mission of creating opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Teachers Aid will assist the instructor with classroom management, lab/shop supervision, and general instructional support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone pursuing a career in the technical trades or education to gain real-world experience.
Work with individuals with disabilities to discover their interests for employment and prepare them for employment
Assist the instructor with daily classroom and lab activities, including setup and cleanup of tools, equipment, and materials.
Support students during hands-on practice, ensuring safe and proper use of tools and machinery.
Monitor student engagement and provide basic guidance under the direction of the instructor.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop/classroom environment.
Assist with record-keeping and preparation of instructional materials.
Enforce school safety policies and support adherence to OSHA and trade-specific safety standards.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and program planning as needed.
Provide one-on-one instruction and support to students as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and program rules.
Establish and maintain effective, positive relationships with students, employers, internal departments, referral sources, external agencies, and the public.
Perform duties in compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations and guidelines governing equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination in the workplace
Maintain professionalism when conducting business on behalf of Tessera
Maintain tools, equipment, and training materials in good working order
Must have a pleasant and positive attitude and adhere to a highly confidential standard in all situations, and work well with a diverse population of people.

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Tessera Temporary Technical Trades Teachers Aid:
High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
Successfully completed Tessera’s Introduction to Faciliites Maintenance Program within the past year
Additional previous Facilities Maintenance experience preferred
Classroom management, lab/shop supervision, and general instructional support
Able to communicate both verbally and in wiritng
A valid state driver’s license is preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance is preferred
