Job title and brief description: The VP of Service Operations will oversee all service operations within the United States. This position will be tasked with creating organizational structure, improving operational processes, and working towards achieving KRAs established through strategic planning. This position will ensure that necessary staff and systems are in place to meet operational production goals.
Qualifications:
- 4-year Degree required; 4-year Engineering (BS, BSET, or equivalent), Operations Management or Business Degree preferred.
- 10+ years of demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in a wide range of manufacturing processes required.
- Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement.
- 10+ years of experience leading, planning, and directing cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizational development initiatives and change management activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understands and applies standard project management methodologies.
- Requires minimum supervision, except in areas of a unique aspect.
Primary tasks:
- Design and implement plans for the effective use of material and labor resources to achieve service operational targets across all US operations.
- Review production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met; create plans for improvement based on reported data.
- Supervise operational management personnel and executive business strategies to improve production capability, quality, costs and customer service goals; organize departmental structure for optimal, efficient operations.
- Assists executive staff with long-term operational goals, expansion efforts, and the implementation of new and advanced technology.
- Improve processes through research, the most effective production approaches and implement organizational change initiatives.
- Drive and assist in the creation of operational SOPs; refine and document existing SOPS.
- Monitor service teams to ensure operations are following health and safety standards.
- Lead trouble-shooting activities to identify and solve complex manufacturing problems.
- Work cohesively with the quality assurance department to ensure product quality and specification consistency while maintaining ISO systems.
- Assess equipment and systems mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency.
- Recommend purchase of all capital equipment and process expansion, management integration of acquisitions into operational structure.
- Monitor and control a production process to adjust operations in the event of a problem.
