Primary Purpose:
Under general supervision, in a school, responsible for the maintenance of all attendance records and the preparation of related reports.
Duties/Responsibilities: • Monitor all tardies
• Issue “admit & tardy slips” to students after absence or tardy
• Monitor sign-in and sign-out for students
• Review teacher daily attendance report by period and report discrepancies
• Prepare 3 week attendance verification reports and provide to teachers for confirmation; make corrections as needed
• Research/audit attendance discrepancies prior to 6-week report
• Produce, submit to TEA, and print 6-week reports according to the student attendance handbook and Uplift Education attendance procedures
• Conduct 1st & 4th week attendance reconciliations and submit to CMO for audit
• Print and maintain attendance reports/documentation for audit purposes
• Record and keep confidential all disciplinary actions relating to attendance
• Assist in “tracking” missing students reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, students, and parents.
• Prepare and distribute attendance rosters for substitute teachers
• Record in student information management system (SIMS) all “paper” attendance
• Record and post all absence notes in SIMS
• Plan and prepare for irregular attendance days (testing, half-days, etc.) set by the school calendar
• Attend all ESC regional and Uplift training workshops as required by Uplift CMO
• Train and work with teachers on attendance procedures
• Prepare report of unexcused absences for school leaders; send warning letters to parents as required and file truancy action as directed
Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s) • Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED
• Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position preferred or 2 years general clerical and typing experience plus one year experience in a closely related area
• Special Skills/Certifications: Able to manage accurate and suitable records; Effective typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance skills; Able to meet established deadlines; Knowledge of ethical and legal considerations related to the privacy of student records (e.g., FERPA, Education Code, district policies, etc.)
Required Skills/Abilities: • Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports.
• Bilingual Skills: Preferred Spanish/English
• Technology: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly Microsoft Excel. Ability to use basic office equipment.
Starting Pay: $16.92

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is low to high
and may have frequent interruptions. There may be activity from other employees and students of a distracting nature. The ability to work outside at carline each day may be required and will include
exposure to varied temperatures and weather.
