 Director of Facilities:   

The Director of Facilities is responsible for supervising, planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of Sunrise Community Health’s physical facilities. This includes oversight of building and grounds maintenance, utilities, environmental and security systems, renovations, new construction, and other physical projects as needed. The Director fosters a culture of patient-centered care, service excellence, quality, and safety throughout all facilities operations.

 

Position Summary:

 With a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach, The Director of Facilities will:

  • Evaluate required repairs and assign tasks to in-house facilities staff or external contractors, as appropriate.
  • Ensure all utilities, environmental systems, and security systems are functioning appropriately. 
  • Manage contracts and relationships with third-party service vendors (e.g., cleaning, landscaping, snow removal, security).
  • Respond effectively to developing conditions and crisis situations that impact facility operations and overall functionality.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to plan, design, oversee, and facilitate major maintenance and construction projects.
  • Conduct site inspections and engage with employees to identify and address maintenance and repair needs.
  • Perform Supervisory functions including selection, training, and evaluation of staff, conducting staff meetings, and other events to foster good communication and employee morale.
  • Promptly and courteously handle employee concerns, complaints, and issues. 
  • Review, approve, and prioritize work orders and approve paperwork regarding expenditures.
  • Participate in committees as required by Sunrise executive leadership.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to Sunrise executive leadership regarding facilities activities.
  • Be available for on-call duty outside regular working hours and respond to emergency situations at any facility location as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts or Construction Management and/or 5 years’ experience in a construction industry plus 2 years management experience.
  • A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record in good standing are required.
