Salary: Starting at $41600 / annually - depending on education / experience 

 

Job Summary:

Provides direct supervision to the coordinators in Clubhouse and InSPIRE and coverage in their absences. Assists the Manager of Structured Day Services implement the operational and fiscal management of Beechwood NeuroRehab’s Structured Day Programs: Clubhouse and InSPIRE (Increasing Social Participation in Real Experiences). Monitors program delivery to ensure a high quality of services to Members is sustained which promotes Members’ engagement in structured day tasks and activities so Members progress towards their identified goals within their structured day program and individualized Rehabilitation Service Plan. Ensures coordinators in the Clubhouse and InSPIRE structured day programs administer services in compliance with regulatory standards. Facilitates the communication between the structured day coordinators with Members, their families and significant others, and with staff in other departments who are part of the Members’ Transdisciplinary Rehab Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a frequent presence in the Clubhouse and InSPIRE programs to monitor staff performance as it relates to safety standards, therapeutic milieu, adherence to levels of supervision, active engagement and productivity of staff and Members, and other relevant standards.
  • Assists other coordinators develop work and activities for Clubhouse and InSPIRE and evaluates skills necessary for performing tasks, and breaks work down into tasks that each Member can perform. Assists Manager of Structured Day Services facilitate the implementation of program development in Clubhouse and InSPIRE.
  • Evaluates skills necessary for performing work and activities in Clubhouse and InSPIRE, and helps to break down tasks into components that each Member can perform. Identifies ways to adapt programming towards each Member’s strengths.
  • Assists the Manager of Structured Day Services provide adequate program staffing by use of consistent practices in the recruiting and hiring process coordinated through the Human Resources Department, supervising, conducting performance evaluations/reviews, addressing incidents of performance problems and progressive discipline, discharges, and promotions, in accordance with the guidelines established by the Human Resources Department.
  • Provides support to all coordinators in Clubhouse and InSPIRE and facilitates staff schedules; provides additional staffing coverage when the Structured Day Coordinator - Float is not available to provide coverage.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Manager of Structured Day Programs including: management of current and past census data, completion of incident reports, submission of narratives for RSP and discharge reports, management of petty cash and credit card receipts, and representation of structured day programs in meetings such as ITC, RSP, PRC, and other special meetings as they arise.
  • Assists the Manager of Structured Day Services maintain compliance in Clubhouse and InSPIRE with applicable standards, service definitions, data collection, and reporting for Beechwood NeuroRehab as a program of Woods Services (e.g., PA Dep’t. of Health, HIPAA, OLTL, DHS, CARF, DOL, IBICA (Clubhouse only), etc.).
  • Oversees the structured day coordinators’ weekly documentation of Member activities in the Clubhouse and InSPIRE, and responsible for this when providing coverage for a coordinator in the Clubhouse or InSPIRE.
  • Collects the structured day coordinators’ documentation on goals and objectives and reports on performance in the Member’s RSP/ISP meetings.
  • Oversees InSPIRE LST’s & Directs Residential LSTs who are assigned to Members, teaching them the compensatory strategies to facilitate Members’ performance of ADLs and Members’ engagement in group and individual activities in order to maximize their independent performances.
  • Assists the coordinators in Clubhouse and InSPIRE utilize cognitive, behavioral, physical rehabilitation, job coaching techniques (especially task analysis), environmental modifications, adaptive equipment (including assistive technology), and compensatory strategies to facilitate Members’ engagement in group and individual activities in order to maximize their independent performances.
  • Enables the coordinators in the Clubhouse and InSPIRE programs to function as part of a continuum of services that assures therapeutic goals and objectives will be designed to provide brain injury skills training, assistance and/or supervision to Members in the areas of daily living, personal care, social integration, vocation, and community assimilation utilizing compensatory strategies developed by the Transdisciplinary Rehab Team in accordance with the Member’s RSP.
  • Provides additional support to the Coordinators in Clubhouse and InSPIRE and InSPIRE LSTs facilitate Members’ interpersonal skills to enable positive social interactions, including developing strategies for effective negotiation and healthy conflict resolution, in order to improve quality of relationships in residential, recreational, and work settings.
  • Assists the Coordinators in Clubhouse and InSPIRE develop Members’ goals and objectives within their RSP/ISP and collect data and documents with respect to goals and objectives and provides feedback on Members’ performances with respect to their RSP/ISP and engagement in Clubhouse and InSPIRE.
  • Attends and participates in required training sessions, staff meetings, and special assignments as required. Assists in program evaluation and program development activities to make the program best meet the needs of the Members.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with all levels of the organization as well as with community organizations.
  • Work hours may require evening and weekend availability for time limited periods, to support evening and weekend activities in Clubhouse and InSPIRE.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy or related Human Services field. Certification in Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) Eligible.
  • 1 to 2 years work experience in human service field required. 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Brain injury experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point).
  • Must become proficient in use of current electronic health record system within 3 to 6 months of hire.
  • Must obtain ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire and maintain certification.
  • Must obtain CBIS Certification within 12 months of hire and maintain certification.
  • Demonstrate writing skills to adequately perform all required documentation.
  • Ability to verbally and professionally communicate effectively with clients, staff, and job placement sites.
  • Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license. Proof of valid automobile insurance submitted annually.
  • Must complete Smith Driving Training Course and maintain a valid card.
  • Able to lift/transfer a minimum of 50 pounds.
