Manchester University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical and Graduate Life Sciences (Pharmacology). The successful candidate will join the College of Health Professions, School of Pharmacy, to teach in a dynamic, collaborative environment that emphasizes the teacher-scholar model and innovation in pharmacy education. The faculty member will contribute to teaching, scholarship, and service within the program.
What You'll Do:
Teaching (60%)
Provide high-quality instruction in pharmacology and related topics in both in-person and distance learning formats.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and innovative teaching methods that prepare students for modern pharmacy practice.
Serve as course coordinator and develop elective courses as appropriate.
Continuously incorporate emerging topics and best practices into teaching.
Serve as a professional role model and mentor to pharmacy students.
Scholarship (20%)
Engage in scholarly activities, including discovery, application, integration, and teaching in pharmacology.
Pursue fundable research aligned with personal and institutional goals.
Disseminate scholarly work through publications and presentations.
Collaborate and mentor in scholarly pursuits across disciplines.
Service (20%)
Participate in faculty governance and departmental initiatives.
Mentor students and junior faculty.
Contribute to professional organizations and community outreach.
Support a culture of student success and collaboration within the program.
What You'll Need:
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or terminal degree in pharmaceutical sciences with a focus in pharmacology.
Credentials supporting appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor.
Understanding of pharmacy education and interdisciplinary collaboration in health sciences.
Effective oral and written communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to adapt to evolving teaching technologies and methods.
