Seeking a Part-time Fellow Engineer/ Trainer to support our federal government client in Aiken, SC.

Requirements:
The Contractor will be responsible for the following:
- Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems.
- Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
- Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
- Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
- Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.
- Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers. Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.
- Lead task teams for developing solutions to more complex problems. Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management.
- Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed. Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements.
- Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups.
Prepare reports for external publication.
Additional Duties
- Provide staff augmentation services in support of training for the client in the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) of assigned instructional programs in accordance with approved Training Program Descriptions and Training Plans.
- General Responsibilities include attending training to qualify for SME/Instructor status on one of more courses, reviewing and providing input for course and exam improvements, grading course exams and providing feedback for students, providing instruction for specified engineering courses to engineers.
Work Hours: Up to a 40-hour work week is scheduled. The client utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10’s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80’s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes the client holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Design Authority Manager. The anticipated work schedule is 6:00 am to 4:30 pm - flexible work hours, part-time up to 32 hours as needed.
Qualifications:
Required
Must demonstrate minimum of 15 years of experience in an engineering role
Considered an internal expert in areas of expertise
Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as an internal and external publications and professional society presentations
Can solve complex problems in the field
Candidate shall have good communication and presentation skills
Candidate shall be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint
Ability to develop/deliver technical classroom training
Attend and qualify for Subject Matter Expert/Instructor Status on numerous training topics
Must be able to provide Professional References
Education
- A Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR
- A MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR
- A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience. (BS degree in an applicable engineering discipline (e.g., electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, nuclear, chemical, computer science, computer-related, etc.)
Preferred
- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (“L” or “Q”) within the past two years
- Familiarity with engineering manuals, procedures, standards, and engineering programs at SRS
- Previous SRS experience
- Experience in area relative to course of instruction and teaching experience
