Erie Family Health Centers, a nationally recognized top workplace with 13 sites in Chicago and suburbs, is looking for a valuable addition to our Leadership Team! The Director of Health Center Operations plans, directs, organizes, controls, and evaluates the operations of one or more clinical practices sites. They are accountable for budget development, financial performance, labor productivity, people management practices, quality improvement, regulatory compliance and achievement of the goals and objectives of the health centers.

*Compensation is based on each candidate’s experience, skills and education within the range identified for the role. Main Duties & Responsibilities

Operations Management: Direct the daily operations of one or more clinical practice sites, including managing and supervising specific functions and professional and/or support staff.

  • Manages personnel assigned to the clinical sites(s)
  • Oversees patient care support functions.
  • Coordinates space utilization with Site Medical Director.
  • Monitors and adjusts patient flow patterns in consultation with clinical providers.

Financial Management: Responding for the financial performance of the clinical sites(s):

  • In consultation with the Site Medical Director and the Senior Director of Operations, collaborates and monitors the annual personnel, general expense, capital, and grants budgets.
  • Ensures the establishment and implementation of registration, charge captures, collection, reconciliations, and audit process consistent with established business practices.
  • Prepares and submits standardized financial performance reports and other ad hoc reporting necessary to measure and benchmark financial performance status.

Program Development:

  • Works with local government and community agency liaisons to develop and provide community-based programs, initiatives, and special events that promote accessible health care and prevention services.
  • Identifies operations for linkage and other community-based entities and alternative funding sources that promote affordable, accessible, and complementary health care services.
  • In consultations with the Senior Director of Operations and other Leadership Team members, participate in strategic planning efforts.

Qualifications


Education

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with 6 years of progressively responsible leadership experience; OR
  • Associate degree or two years of college, with 4 years of progressively responsible leadership experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university with 2 years of progressive leadership experience.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree a plus.

 

Experience:

Required:

  • 3 years experience in operations, consulting, or finance (preferably in healthcare).
  • Experience in managing a diversity of assignments simultaneously across multiple senior managers.

Preferred:

  • Experience with front end revenue cycle activities preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred

 

Skills and Knowledge

Required:

  • Strong analytical reasoning to understand needs and transform them into operational application.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with all members of the Health Center Operations Staff Leadership Team.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems to drive efficient and effective changes for better performance.
  • Strong project management, analytical, financial, and organizational skills.

 

Preferred:

  • Innovative and strategic thinking to effectively address issues and opportunities.
  • Understanding business process management.
