SUMMARY: 

Waterstone Mortgage is looking for a Temporary Accounting Associate to join our team at our corporate office in the heart of Brookfield, WI! The Temporary Accounting Associate will be responsible for overseeing daily and weekly accounting tasks such as recording journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, general accounting transactions and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts at month-end. They will also support the team when issues arise and ensure SLAs are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and code invoice payables using Loan Vision and Concur SAP, ensure that all invoices have proper approvals.
  • Manage Vendor Information in Loan Vision
  • Manage ServiceNow check requests, LenderX and Mercury activities and ensure timeliness of payments.
  • Manage shared Inboxes and resolve issues such vendor late payments, employee inquiries, etc
  • Generate merchant accounts reports and post entries accordingly.
  • Process and deposit checks received.
  • Post journal entries and monthly account reconciliations including identification and resolution of all issues in compliance with GAAP
  • Work closely with Controller on projects to streamline and improve processes

ADDITIONAL DUTIES: 

  • Complete any additional duties assigned by management.
  • Complete regulatory and compliance training, as required.
  • Assist WMC employees and departments as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 2 to 3 years of previous accounting experience is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Advanced knowledge of Excel and related computer applications such as Microsoft Office is required.
