Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine is looking for a Part time Ultrasound Technologist to join our growing team. This position is an integral part of our team and vital to helping us create a smooth and personal experience for each of our patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate they are able to contribute to, engage, and work well in a close-knit team atmosphere. Every member of our staff plays a critical role in care operations and therefore must be able to assume ownership of their responsibilities. Applicant must be mature, self-directed, well organized, thorough, well spoken, and a quick learner. We're looking for someone with a warm, calm personality that presents professionally to our patients.


This position will be primarily at our Buckhead office but may require coverage on an as needed basis at the other practice locations. The hours are Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM – 10:30AM.


Job Description

  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic OB/GYN/infertility ultrasound procedures utilizing various transducers primarily follicle, and transvaginal ultrasounds and first trimester OB scans.
  • Perform ultrasound Doppler procedures.
  • Perform 3D ultrasound procedures.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
  • Integrate diagnostic sonogram with patients’ history, medical records, and laboratory results, and adapt to examinations.
  • Present and prepare preliminary ultrasound findings to attending physician for final report.
  • Consistently and accurately complete documentation pertinent to the ultrasound examinations.
  • Assist the physician and other team members in providing excellent patient care.
  • Maintain mature, professional, and effective working relationships with all physicians, other staff, and outside customers.
  • Explain the procedure to the patient, record medical history consider necessary and prepare patient for testing.
  • Responsible for appropriately marking super bill to charge patients for exams performed. Escort patient to check out desk to assure payment for services provided.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; reporting equipment failures/calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain related supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies.
  • Conform to applicable HIPAA, billing compliance, Quality Assurance, and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in a team approach to patient care. Coordinate with other staff to assure appropriate and timely patient care is provided and patient needs are met.
  • Related duties as assigned.


Requirements

 

  • Current American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification in OB/GYN preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification.
  • Diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited medical sonography program.
  • At least One to Two years of experience in an OB/GYN setting; experience in fertility or women’s health is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service background.
  • Proficiency in computers.
  • Ability to operate ultrasound equipment efficiently, evaluate sonogram to acquire diagnostic information, communicate diagnostic information to physicians, follow departmental protocols and guidelines, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team.
