Description

Job Summary: 

  • The Warehouse Office Assistant will provide support to the Warehouse Office Lead and other warehouse personnel. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, self-motivated professional who is proactive, pays strict attention to detail, and comfortable taking initiative.   

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • None 

 Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Provides administrative support and assistance. 
  • Coordinates internal resources and vendors for the efficient execution of tasks/projects. 
  • Performs office tasks including maintaining records, ordering supplies, and scheduling routine/emergency maintenance. 
  • Assists in receiving goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy. 
  • Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments. 
  • Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets. 
  • Assists in maintaining database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required. 
  • Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage. 
  • Performs other clerical and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications


Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Solutions-oriented with the ability to follow directions provided from the Warehouse Lead.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. 
  • At least four years of related experience required.  
  • Experience in logistics and supply chain solutions a plus. 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
