Description
The Early Interventionist works with children birth to 36 months of age who have been found eligible to receive services through the Key Infant Development Services (K.I.D.S.) Program. Each early interventionist is assigned families eligible for infant development. Infant Development is a home-based, family-focused service that provides information, support, and training for families to assist them in meeting their child’s needs. The primary early intervention provider works directly with the parents to train them in carrying out priorities/outcomes, criteria, and age-appropriate activities within a child’s natural environment and daily routines as indicated by the child’s I.F.S.P. Travel in an eight-county area to the child’s home is required as services are completed at the child’s residence. This position supports the mission and organizational goals of HIT.
Qualifications
Graduate with at least a B.S. or B.A. degree in education, special education, early childhood special education, social work, or health care related field (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech/Language Pathology, or Nursing). Refer to North Dakota Early Intervention Birth to Three System Personnel Standards for additional personnel categories and EI roles approved.
Valid Licensure by the State of North Dakota in professional area of expertise or certification as referenced per licensure/certification column of North Dakota Early Intervention Birth to Three System Personnel Standards.
Valid drivers license and auto insurance. If license is from another state, obtain ND license within 60 days of hire.
Competent in general development of children birth to 3 years of age.
