We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Splicing Manager to oversee fiber optic splicing operations. As a Fiber Optic Splicing Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of contract splicers and ensuring the efficient and accurate installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables. Your in-depth knowledge of splicing techniques, testing procedures, and troubleshooting methodologies will be crucial to the success of our projects.
Essential Job Functions
· Plan and coordinate fiber optic splicing projects, ensuring timely completion within budgetary constraints.
· Perform site surveys and develop splicing plans, taking into consideration environmental factors and project requirements.
· Oversee the installation and termination of fiber optic cables, ensuring proper techniques and industry standards are followed.
· Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to fiber optic splicing, cable continuity, and signal loss, and develop effective solutions.
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
· Maintain accurate documentation of splicing activities, including splice records, test results, and as-built drawings.
· Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
Strong proficiency in OTDR trace reading and analysis.
· 5 years' experience in fiber optic splicing in the telecommunications industry.
· 2 years' experience managing a team of splicers
· In-depth knowledge of fiber optic splicing techniques, industry standards, and best practices.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve fiber optic cable issues.
· Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with the capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
· Leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of splicers.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
· Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and protocols for working with fiber optic cables.
· Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
