About the Department

Reporting directly to an assigned Park Supervisor, responsible for providing administrative support to the Williamson County Parks Department by performing reception and clerical duties.

Position Duties

  • Provides coverage at a reception desk to assist visitors and callers
  • Provides customer service to customers and staff via telephone, email or in person
  • Ensures comprehensive filing systems are maintained and up to date
  • Retrieves, sorts, and distributes incoming mail and fax documents
  • Performs daily financial transactions such as collecting payments, making bank deposits, balancing cash draws, and prepares financial reports for internal and external entities
  • Orders equipment and supplies for offices and aids with budget tracking
  • Schedules and creates reservations for various sporting programs, events, and facilities
  • Assists and creates marketing content and tools such as brochures and flyers for department events, programs, and memos
  • Creates and maintains various reports, forms, worksheets, and informational materials
  • Enters and verifies data within applicable databases and systems
  • Reviews, processes, and issues permits related to park operations
  • Assist department staff and management with events and other clerical duties as needed
  • Attends all meetings and trainings as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Reports directly to – Park Supervisor, Berry Springs Park and Preserve
  • Direct Reports – No


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying


ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
  • Occasional outdoor work required at the Quarry Splash Pad during summer months


IRREGULAR HOURS

  • Normal duty hours for Berry Springs Park and Preserve are Tuesday-Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
  • Regular attendance is required

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of clerical experience in a customer service role
  • Prior cash handling experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and various tracking systems


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required within thirty (30) days of employment

  • Valid Texas Driver’s license


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Prior experience working in parks administration, parks operations or a related capacity
