ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily operation of the women’s health section of radiology.
- Responsible for suggesting changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinating training and development in breast imaging specialties.
- Adheres to all FDA guidelines for the mammography section.
- Maintains appropriate records for all accreditation processes and inspections.
- Maintains the structured reporting system to ensure accurate audit reporting, statistical tracking, and resolution of workflow issues.
- Ensures completion of daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Mammography imaging procedures
- Performs all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols the exam with the Radiologist.
- Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
- Ability to operate equipment consistent with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
- Verifies exam orders, identifies the patient through two means of identification, and provides exam education.
- Reviews and documents the patient’s medical history, obtains required informed consent, and ensures all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete and available before submitting procedures for Radiologist interpretation.
- Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
- May be required to perform other functions within the clinic. Any additional training required will be provided.
- Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
- Obtains additional training or certification as required.
- Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
- Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
- Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory.

- Actively contributes to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
- Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
EDUCATION, LICENSURE(S), AND CERTIFICATION(S)

EXPERIENCE

☐ | ☒ | Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, CT, and MRI technologist. |
☐ | ☒ | Cross-trained into other modalities, including, but not limited to: CT, MRI, and DEXA. |
☐ | ☒ | Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.

Position Classification: Non Exempt
Compensation Range: $35.10 to $52.64
