Description
Scope of Position: Constructs custom displays, kiosks, and exhibit components for tradeshow, branded environments, and museum exhibits. May also perform refurbishments of existing property.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets all blueprints about the manufacturing and maintenance of museum and tradeshow exhibits.
- Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines and use various hand tools to fabricate and repair museum and tradeshow exhibitry.
- Must be able to operate equipment such as saws, planes, drill presses, hand tools, etc., with little or no supervision according to all safety standards established by Exhibit Concepts.
- Apply general knowledge concerning plastic lamination, solid surface materials, wood joinery, and exotic materials.
- Apply basic construction methods to assemble standard panels and framing members for museum and trade show exhibits.
- Read and follow Safety Data Sheets for all products that are new to you. Read and follow all manufacturer recommendations. Use a Train-the-Trainer mentality with other team members.
- Operates safely and knowledgeably all types of air tools, staple guns, and spray equipment.
- Able to work with a team to meet aggressive production schedules.
- May be required to travel for the exhibition installation.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
General Skills:
- Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should know about Windows 11or greater, and have familiarity with Microsoft Office 356, including Word, Excel, & Outlook.
- Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Forklift driving is a requirement (ECI certification).
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. A forklift will be used to move anything over 75 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
