KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: |
|
Knowledge of and skill to use tools of the trades. Skill in reading, interpreting and applying information in technical manuals and other documents. Ability to perform routine duties guided by standard practices. Ability to take initiative to begin projects without supervision. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions. |
|
JOB GOAL: |
|
To assist in efficiently maintaining facilities and equipment in the school system in a safe and attractive condition. |
|
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: |
|
|
1. |
Performs various maintenance jobs as directed. |
|
2. |
Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner. |
|
3. |
Participates in trainings to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment |
|
4. |
Prepares required reports and maintain all records as directed |
|
5. |
Works independently with little direct supervision. |
|
6. |
Able to climb an extension ladder carrying a maximum of 50 pounds. |
|
7. |
Maintains the proper vehicle operator’s license for assigned vehicles. |
|
8. |
Operates maintenance machinery as directed. |
|
9. |
Maintains proper care of tools and equipment. |
|
10. |
Works cooperatively with other personnel. |
|
11. |
Performs carpentry, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and electrical work as assigned and/or a willingness to learn if not proficient. |
|

Repairs and maintains all types of plumbing as assigned |

Changes filters as assigned. |

14. |
Demonstrates initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities. |

Ensures adherence to safety guidelines and procedures established by the Elbert County School System. |

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: |
|
Heavy Work: Lifting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of lifting frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of lifting constantly to move objects. |
