Airgas is Hiring for a Field Support Assistant in Houston, TX.

  • Coordinate with District Managers to ensure timely review and approval of invoices, repair estimates, and maintenance reports.

  • Maintain detailed records of truck and equipment repairs, working closely with district mechanics to document issues accurately.

  • Track and process equipment for auction, domicile/cost center updates, and Stativity changes in coordination with PTG and Fleet Manager.

  • Create and manage CAR and CPR documentation for new fleet equipment and assist with equipment lease administration.

  • Audit and analyze fuel reports, mileage, and equipment utilization to identify cost savings and operational improvements.

  • Support the Fleet Manager with weekly preventive maintenance (PM) reporting and data accuracy in PTG.

  • Collaborate with district managers, mechanics, and the technical services team to ensure clear communication, timely service scheduling, and strong cross-district relationships.

  • Schedule and Pay:  Mon - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - $25.00-26.00/hour

Job Description Summary:  The Fleet Support Assistant is responsible for providing critical administrative and technical support for all fleet operations. This role will also help manage vehicle maintenance schedules, track fleet data, coordinate with district mechanics and PTG to resolve issues to minimize downtime and control costs. Offering support to the districts in the areas of Standard Operating Procedures, Intranet tools, SAP processes, other processes, procedures, and policies and basic computer software applications used in day-to-day district activities.  In addition, performs administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy, and any combination of the following tasks: ANS communications, Customer Service, project facilitation and other general duties as required. Communicate daily with upper management to ensure the processes, procedures and policies are being followed.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred:  Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • 2 year of fleet administrative support experience 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Experience with SAP systems is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google sheets and Google search

  • Solid organizational, team-building and people skills. The ability to work and navigate within a complex matrixed organization.

  • Calm and professional demeanor, in control of workload and able to handle multiple tasks and interruptions.

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment.

  • Attention to detail with ability to organize and prioritize workflow.

  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures properly

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
