About the Role:
The HSE Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of operations at our Deer Park, TX facility. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE programs that align with company policies and regulatory requirements. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. By monitoring compliance and investigating incidents, the HSE Coordinator helps to minimize workplace risks and environmental impact. Ultimately, this role ensures a safe working environment that protects employees, assets, and the community while supporting operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental coordination or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and other relevant HSE standards.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
- Experience working in the petrochemical or manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Proficiency in HSE software and data management tools.
- Advanced training in emergency response and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors to promote awareness and safe work practices.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE activities, prepare reports, and communicate findings to management and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support emergency response planning and environmental protection initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in safety culture and compliance.

Communication skills are essential for delivering training sessions, writing clear reports, and collaborating with diverse teams to foster a safety-first culture.
