GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains the operation of the Memory Care, directs, coordinates, and supervises all services and activities. Complies with federal, state and local standards for facility operation. Monitors policies and procedures, public relations, and employee morale. Complies with federal, state, and local standards for facility operation. Incorporates the Generation’s mission, vision, and values in the daily work and interactions with others.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides training and back up personal care to residents as outlined in the resident service plan. Provides training and back up performance of med assist duties.
- Supports Health Services Director with oversight of care staff.
- Reviews and Ensures compliance of Memory Care Facility with Federal, state and local standards.
- Provides direct medication room supervision.
- Assists in set up of resident’s phones, call systems, and pagers.
- Provides information necessary in problem solving for residents, staff and family members when needed.
- Participates in training of all new staff members who are working in assisted living.
- Promotes teamwork and continuity of care at all times. Provides positive reinforcement or redirection, as necessary.
- Monitors change of condition falls and all other emergency situations.
- Coordinates changes in service and ensures that adequate documentation of such items occurs prior to leaving shift by performing shift assignments for caregivers.
- Ensures that proper documentation of unusual situations, injuries, alert charting, communication records and resident care notes occurs according to facility policy.
- Ensures compliance of Assisted Living Facility with federal, state, and local standards.
- Participates in quality assurance program and development.
- Participates in mandatory staff training.
- Reads service plans on a regular basis to ensure that care is being provided as agreed upon by residents.
- Assists with and performs move in processing, tours. and marketing.
Qualifications and Skills Required (Minimum qualifications):
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Current Home Care Aide Certification if in Washington State, and/or current on any applicable licenses or certifications required for this position in the state in which employee is working.
- Experience in provision of care to the senior population.
- Two years’ experience in assisted living, long-term care, or the delivery of health services.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to Assisted Living facilities.
- Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.
Supervision:
- Supervision of staff and assignment of tasks.
- While on duty, if the team leader is occupied, would be the person in charge of the caregiver team and assignments.
- Ensure that staff understand and follow through with changes and updates in service plans.

Working Conditions:
Works indoors with the potential to work in hot humid conditions in some resident’s apartments. Works with a variety of staff. Deals with the public, personnel, visitors, family members and residents under all circumstances. Works outside the facility routinely in the completion of assessments, marketing, and service coordination
Travel:
- Occasional travel and/or driving may be required in this position.
