Location Overview:

The Team:
Global Markets Risk Analytics (GMRA) is part of Global Risk Analytics (GRA). It responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring counterparty credit risk and market risk models. GMRA also develops analytical tools to support regulatory, audit, and internal risk management needs for Global Markets.
Role Description:
This role focuses on delivering robust operational capabilities and governance frameworks to support international regulatory approvals, including Basel capital regulations. The primary responsibility is the development and deployment of market risk models, encompassing model design, regulatory submission, and production implementation.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop quantitative risk models, analytics, and applications to support market risk management and regulatory capital calculations.
Lead and contribute to the development, documentation, and submission of VaR and RNiV models; address feedback from risk managers, model risk management, regulators, and audit teams.
Conduct statistical analysis on historical market data and model parameters.
Develop and maintain benchmarking and backtesting frameworks; investigate and explain any anomalies or overages.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders — including Risk, Finance, Technology and Model Risk Management — to enhance models and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Validate market data, risk metrics, and P&L time series to support model integrity.
Prepare comprehensive documentation and evidence to support internal and external examinations.
Perform in-depth analysis of model outputs using quantitative techniques such as backtesting, benchmarking, and sensitivity analysis.
Identify cross-market themes and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Communicate findings and model performance insights to stakeholders including risk managers, model developers, senior leadership, and regulators.
Support model remediation efforts and confirm resolution of issues prior to production deployment.
What we are looking for:
PhD (preferred) or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Several years of hands-on experience developing front-office pricing models or market risk models.
Advanced programming skills in Python, with a strong track record of practical application.
Deep understanding of derivatives pricing.
Strong grasp of Value at Risk methodologies and statistical estimation techniques.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
Independent and analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
