About the Department
The mission of the DRUG Court is to assist substance dependent misdemeanor offenders by providing a court-managed drug treatment and mentoring program that will eliminate barriers to sobriety, aide in developing a sober lifestyle, reduce recidivism and community safety. The Municipal Drug Court case manager plays a critical role in implementing the Adult Drug Court Best Practice Standards as outlined by All Rise. The case manager is at the forefront of client advocacy, ensuring that our participants receive the care and services they need to improve overall quality of life. The Case Manager will coordinate with the Drug Court team and various service providers, monitor progress, and develop individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique situation. This role is pivotal in building rapport and engagement with the Drug Court program while bridging the gap between clients and the resources they need and making a significant impact on their overall well-being. This position is grant funded through September 30, 2027 with the ability to reapply for grant funding extension.
Position Duties
- Assess potential Drug Court participants for eligibility.
- Conduct risk and needs assessments (ORAS) and develop individualized case plans
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on the results of the ORAS (Ohio Risk Assessment System) and IDA (Impaired Driving Assessment tool).
- Create formal care plans with participants that describe realistic and measurable goals, including a specific step-by-step, task-oriented plan to meet each goal.
- Links participants to needed resources as identified in the plan providing a single point of contact between the participant and other agencies and services.
- Attend all pre-court staffing and court sessions to provide case updates, progress, and behavioral observations.
- Engage as an active, consistent member of the Drug Court multidisciplinary team.

- Familiarity of court process.
- Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Monitor compliance through meaningful and frequent contacts, including jail, office visits, field/home visits and urinalysis testing, aligned with program intensity requirements.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Maintain complete, timely, and confidential documentation of all assessments, case contacts, team decisions, supervision actions, and behavioral responses in the case management system.
- Conduct regular follow-up meetings with clients.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and services.
- Involves interaction with justice-involved individuals.
- Work is primarily performed in an office setting, with fieldwork and court appearances required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Probation or Drug Court Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Prior experience in behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, and/or court settings is preferred.
Other Qualifications
• Understanding of evidence-based supervision and treatment practices
• Knowledge of the Ohio Risk Assessment System (ORAS) and the Impaired Driving Assessment (IDA)
• Familiarity with Drug Court Best Practice Standards (All Rise/NADCP).
