Job Summary and Responsibilities:

Are you a highly motivated and experienced Sterile Processing professional ready to lead a dedicated team? We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Supervisor to oversee our Sterile Processing department and ensure the highest standards of instrument sterility and patient safety. The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing department, ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant processing of medical devices and instrumentation. This role involves supervising staff, managing workflows, maintaining quality control, and adhering to all regulatory guidelines to support surgical and procedural areas.

 

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Sterile Processing Technicians, ensuring proper techniques and adherence to established protocols.
  • Oversee the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, biological indicators, and instrument traceability.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and accreditation standards.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Job Requirements:
  • High School Graduate / GED required.
  • A college degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of technical operating/instrument room experience, with prior supervisory experience.
  •  Hospital/acute care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of specialty instruments and thorough knowledge of sterilization and disinfecting parameters (steam, low temperature sterilization, and High Level Disinfection) required.
  • Familiarity with current Federal and State laws and regulations as related to specialty required.
  • Accredited Central Service/Sterile Processing Program and/or Surgical Technology Program preferred.
  • Fire Safety card within 90 days of employment required.
