POSITION SUMMARY:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for the monthly invoicing process for several smaller start-up companies that includes generating invoices, reconciling accounts, and resolving billing discrepancies. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all billing transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner. The Billing Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Billing Specialist will work closely with other Accounting departments to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded correctly and that any issues are resolved promptly. This role is critical to the financial health of the companies, and the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our billing processes are efficient and effective.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Invoice Processing – 50%

  • Processes monthly invoices including completing calculations, creating invoices and other steps related to the invoicing process
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Accounts Receivables – 20%

  • Process payments and refunds
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

Internal/External Customer Service – 30%

  • Communicates with external customers regarding billing discrepancies or inquiries
  • Assists with issue resolution research as needed
  • Provides ad-hoc reporting

  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required
  • 2+ years’ relevant experience required
  • Previous locums experience preferred
