Overview

As a Treatment Coordinator, you will serve as a vital link between the dental practice and patients, guiding them through and helping patients understand their proposed treatment. You will review treatment plans, discuss financial options, and coordinating appointments to ensure patients receive the care they need.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with patients to discuss treatment recommendations provided by the dentist.
  • Explain proposed treatments, procedures, and associated benefits in clear and understandable terms.
  • Address patient questions or concerns regarding dental procedures and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with dentists and other dental professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.
  • Coordinate treatment sequences and timelines to optimize efficiency and patient convenience.
  • Provide patients with detailed estimates of treatment costs and breakdowns of insurance coverage, copayments, and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Discuss available payment options, including financing plans, credit arrangements, and insurance coverage.
  • Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities and making informed decisions about their treatment investments.
  • Coordinate scheduling of appointments for various treatments, consultations, and follow-up visits.
  • Work closely with front desk staff to ensure appointment availability and optimize the scheduling process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, consent forms, and financial agreements.
  • Assist with insurance verification, claims processing, and billing as needed.
  • Collaborate with dental office staff to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dental office setting, preferably in a patient coordination or customer service role.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and treatment planning principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with patients.
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy in recordkeeping and documentation.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Empathetic and compassionate attitude towards patients, with a commitment to providing personalized care and support.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in dental assisting or office administration is a plus.
