PAYROLL CLERK
The Payroll Clerk will support the Payroll Department in processing the organization’s in-house payroll, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist on processing payroll each week of approximately 800+ timecards – to include manual entry of timecards, as well as timecard and timeclock imports.
- Process direct deposit set up and change requests for new and existing employees.
- Will scan and file payroll documents.
- Set up payroll deductions and track on a weekly basis to ensure proper deductions are withheld.
- Verify entries of new hires and terminations in the Payroll Systems.
- Provide high level of customer service to employees with questions and concerns related to their pay, how to complete timecard entry, who to contact to request forms, where to send completed forms, etc.
- Develop strong communication within the department and as well as with staffing customers and employees.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, tax, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Ensures procedures and processes are followed.
- Maintains the maintenance of employee records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
- Associates degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
- 2 years of payroll or clerical experience
- Experience using databases and with data entry.
- Ability to read and understand working conditions outlined in a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Construction industry experience preferred.
Compensation:
The minimum and maximum hourly rate of pay that O’Connell Electric Company, Inc. believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is between $23.00 to $28.00 per hour.
